 Breeding
I
strive to breed sound minded dogs, dogs with whom it's fun to do
different things and who want to work for their owners. My breeding
dogs must have a motor and they can't be timid, shy or aggressive. A
dog must be brave enough, it must have enough self-confidence and will
to work both on the field and in the woods.
I
also want the dogs to be as physically healthy as possible. A dog has
to move well, effortlessly and steadily. The dogs I have used haven't
had any allergies either.
As for the
looks, the dogs I use for breeding are typical for the breed.

I
have lived with dogs since I
was 6 years old. In the early 2004 I had two dogs when Veki (Starsky
Ökyveikko) came to us. Then I became even more enthousiastic about dogs
and got a little interested in breeding. For almost a year I searched
for a border collie bitch puppy that I liked. Finally, Nita (Kalisha
Vom Skuddenhof) came from Germany in the early summer 2006.
Our
dogs live with me and my husband in a one-family house in Savio,
Laukaa. We live surrounded by fields. The dogs even have a pen but that
has mainly been occupied by our goats...
I
take long walks with my dogs. I think dogs must be in good physical
shape, especially if you want them to have energy to work with you in
different sports. I walk in the forest a lot. In the fall I make use of
the stubble fields. In the winter I ski and snowshoe with the dogs.
Usually we go for a run off-lead (owner included...), but sometimes we
take long walks with lead. In the summer we often go swimming. However
the dogs start earlier and stop later in the fall than the owner.
The
dogs are almost always with me. Both my dogs like to travel by car and
Veki is especially eager to go to work with me. Unfortunately I don't
have possibility to have dogs at my work place. I do mainly obedience
with both my dogs. I also do tracking in the forest and do dog agility.
Every once in a while we heard a little. Veki's own sport has been dog
relay.
